Device Settings To use Rivo properly, the following settings are required or recommended on the smartphone. Settings required for iOS devices 1. Settings / Accessibility / Keyboards Turn off the Stick Keys and Slow Keys. 2. Settings / Accessibility / VoiceOver / Typing / Modifier Keys Select Control + Option. 3. Settings / Accessibility / VoiceOver / Typing / Typing Feedback Select "Characters and Words" for Hardware Keyboards. 4. Settings / Accessibility / VoiceOver / Audio Select the Left and Right in both the Speech and Sound Channels for Rivo. These items will appear when Rivo is connected in Audio mode by pressing the AUDIO side button. 5. Settings / General / Keyboard / Dictation Shortcut Select None. Otherwise, you may experience Siri or dictation is activated randomly while using Rivo. Settings recommended for iOS devices 1. Settings / Accessibility / VoiceOver / Audio / VoiceOver Sounds & Haptics Turn Sounds on and Haptics off. 2. Settings / Accessibility / VoiceOver / Speech Turn Pitch Change off. 3. Settings / Accessibility / Touch Turn Shake to Undo off. 4. Settings / Display & Brightness Turn Raise to Wake off. 5. Settings / General / Keyboard / Hardware Keyboard Turn these off: Auto-Capitalization, Auto-Correction, Caps Lock Language Switch. The Hardware Keyboard menu appears when Rivo is connected, and the Caps Lock Language Switch item appears when more than one keyboard is selected in General / Keyboard / Keyboards. 6. Control Center Turn Lock Rotation on. Settings for Android and TalkBack Since there are many Android versions, models, and manufacturers, the following settings may vary slightly depending on your device. 1. Settings / Accessibility / TalkBack / Settings / Advanced settings / Keyboard shortcuts / Choose a keymap Select "Default keymap". 2. Settings / Accessibility / TalkBack Adjust options for TalkBack according to your preference and needs. 3. Settings / Accessibility / Accessibility shortcut Enable Accessibility shortcut service and select Talkback. Then, you may press and hold both volume buttons to turn TalkBack on or off. 4. If the navigation commands do not work as described in the manual despite the above settings, you may need to change the default keyboard to “Gboard” as shown below: Find and install the "Gboard - Google Keyboard" app on the Google Play Store. Move to Settings / System / Languages & input / On-screen keyboard. Enable Gboard. On some Android models, you may also need to do something like below: Move to Settings / General management / Keyboard list and default / Default keyboard. Choose Gboard as the input method.
