1.3. Button 5 has a small bulge on it, and is the only button which is the same in both orientations.
2.1. Power on and off: hold down POWER until vibration. There is one long vibration when turned on and two when turned off.
2.2. Disconnect and lock front buttons: hold down KEYBOARD until vibration.
2.3. Lock front buttons in the Audio mode: hold down AUDIO until vibration.
2.4. Unlock into the Keyboard mode: press POWER and KEYBOARD together.
2.5. Unlock into the Audio mode: press POWER and AUDIO together.
2.6. Unlock into the Phone mode: press KEYBOARD and AUDIO together.
2.7. Connection status: press POWER shortly. There is one vibration when unlocked and connected, two when locked and disconnected, and three when locked in the Audio mode.
3.1. Pairing mode: hold down KEYBOARD and AUDIO together until vibration.
3.2. Disconnect or cancel the pairing mode: hold down L3, then press 0, *.
3.3. Save the current connection as device #1: hold down L3, then press 0, 1, R3.
3.4. Connect to device #1: hold down L3, then press 0, 1.
4.1. Check the battery level: press POWER, KEYBOARD, and AUDIO together. (5 levels; 5 vibrations for full and 1 vibration for low)
4.2. Keyboard mode to use Rivo and hear sound from the phone speaker: press KEYBOARD.
4.3. Audio mode to use Rivo and hear sound from Rivo speaker: press AUDIO.
5.1. Navigation mode: press R4.
5.2. Turn the quick navigation on and off: hold down R1, then press 1 to toggle. (It needs to be turned on in the navigation mode.)
5.3. Select the previous or the next: press 4 or 6.
5.4. Select the previous or the next with autorepeat: hold down 4 or 6.
5.5. Activate the current selection: press 5.
5.6. Select the first or the last: press 1 or 7.

5.15. Toggle VoiceOver: press 0 triple times quickly in the iPhones with the home button, or hold down L1, then triple tap R4 in the iPhones without the home button.

5.17. Select the previous rotor: hold down #, then press *. (For successive selections, press *.)
5.18. Change the rotor value: press 2 or 8.

10.2. Rivo layout for faster alphabet typing: hold down L3, then press L1, 4, 1.
10.3. ABC layout for slow but familiar alphabet typing: hold down L3, then press L1, 4, 2.
10.4. Rivo layout is strongly recommended for mnemonics and speedy typing.
11.1. Alphabet typing mode: press L3.
11.2. Type a capital letter: hold down R1, then press L3.
11.3. Type uppercase letters: hold down R1, then press L3, L3.
11.4. Number typing shortcut: hold down L4, then press the corresponding numbers.
